My Spiritual Journey
Reflecting on my faith as an Episcopalian, I find that spirituality is a continual journey of growth, learning, and deepening my relationship with God.
About Under the Fig Tree
Welcome.
This is a place of rest, reflection, and rootedness.
Inspired by the image in John 1:48—where Jesus sees Nathanael “under the fig tree”—this site is a gathering place for spiritual reflection and sacred curiosity. Like Nathanael, many of us long to be seen, known, and called. Beneath the fig tree, we pause. We pray. We listen.
Here you will find essays, meditations, and theological reflections on Scripture, liturgy, justice, and the often-unseen grace at work in ordinary life. These writings are grounded in the Christian tradition, shaped by the Episcopal Church, and animated by a deep yearning for healing, equity, and faithful presence in the world.
The title, Under the Fig Tree, reminds us that we grow best when rooted in hope—especially when that hope calls us toward justice. This is a blog for wanderers and worshippers, activists and artists, skeptics and saints. For anyone trying to follow Jesus with humility, courage, and love.

Faith and Reflection
Through prayer, meditation, and thoughtful discernment, I aim to share personal insights that help deepen spiritual awareness and foster a sense of community grounded in love and compassion.
Living Spiritually
My reflections focus on integrating faith into daily life, encouraging others to find divine presence in ordinary moments and to cultivate a spirit of gratitude and service.
Community and Growth
This space is also dedicated to sharing stories of spiritual growth, inspiring others to explore their faith journeys and embrace the transformative power of God’s grace.
